Hydraulic Workshop Supervisor - based in Wakefield West Yorkshire

The role requires an individual with a strong hydraulic, systems engineering background, with industrial experience. The right candidate being a time served service engineer will have the ability to work on hydraulic systems across a wide range of markets predominantly in the UK, however on occasion overseas.  

Desirable attributes as follows:

  • Manage and progress workloads with both internal and external workshop staff, reporting to the Production Director
  • Technical experience in the Hydraulic Industrial Industry, showing strong depth of knowledge
  • Interpret hydraulic schematic drawings, fault diagnose and utilise your product and application knowledge to solve customer problems
  • Knowledge of fabrication, build, installation of mechanical systems
  • Hydraulic pipework build and installation
  • Hydraulic Power Unit Testing
  • A knowledge of electrical control systems, PLC and machine control would be desirable
  • Basic knowledge of proportional control systems
  • Be enthusiastic, well organised, have a confident manner with good ICT skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, manage a team of workshop engineers
  • Must be able to deliver high levels of customer service, including attention to detail & safety
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as a team or individually
  • Management of workshop staff
  • Educated to a high standard / Driving licence

Project and Mechanical Engineer - Wakefield

We are recruiting a project and mechanical engineer from a hydraulic or industrial background, ideally with experience in the nuclear industry.  The job will be based in Wakefield and is a full-time position.

We require a suitably qualified candidate with a proven track record in project management.  The candidate will be responsible for taking the project from the design stage to final commissioning, understanding engineering and design principles. This role will look after a number current key projects. We operate across several industry sectors, e.g. Nuclear, Petrochemical, Energy, Machine Tool, Food Processing and Automotive.

The following skills / experience would be desirable:

  • Project management
  • Worked within the Nuclear Industry, NEC, Industrial Engineering
  • Designing from customer specifications using 2D/3D FEA tools
  • Understanding of assembly and part drawings for fabrications
  • Understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and valves and their   applications
  • Use of engineering principals such as mechanical & structural constraints, geometric tolerance and material selection
  • Excellent communication skills both externally and internally
  • Must have a ‘can do attitude’ focusing on delivery & customer service
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as a team or as an individual
  • Have a high standard of education
  • Ability to visit customers as required
  • Technical product training will be provided as an on-going requirement to ensure we develop the right candidate.

We are recruiting a mechanical and hydraulic fitter.  We require a suitably qualified candidate that will complement our team of engineers. The role requires an individual with a strong hydraulic, systems engineering background, with industrial/ hydraulic experience. The right candidate being a ‘time served’ service engineer will have the ability to work on hydraulic systems across a wide range of markets predominantly in the UK.  The job is a full-time position, from our Wakefield office.
