Hedley ‘Turnkey’ Hydraulic system operates plastic extrusion machine

Our customer approached us to provide a suitable hydraulics system to operate a plastic extrusion machine in the fibre market. Hedley designed, fabricated, installed and commissioned a HPU and cylinder, allowing our customer to fulfil their objectives. Core values in this market are product sustainability, innovation and improving product performance, so it was important when we designed this system that engineering precision was achieved.

We supplied a hydraulic power unit to give 75 litres per minute at 100 bar, nominal tank volume 200 litres and a total tank volume of 250 litres. The hydraulic cylinder was 80 mm Bore, 56mm Rod and 3500mm Stroke, the cylinder works in vertical orientation, maximum working pressure 100 bar. It was a full ‘turnkey’ solution from design right through to installation and product commissioning.
